HLOHOVEC CASTLE
Hlohovec Castle is the most important historical monument of the town Hlohovec. It is located south of Hlohovec, on the edge of a large tree park with french terraces. The original medieval castle was built in the 11th century. In 1275 King Ladislav IV. donated the castle to the first feudal owner of the Abovcov family. Since then, with little breaks, it belonged with the surrounding lands until 1945 to a powerful feudal family.
