The SENTINEL Adventure Center was created by the reconstruction of the Mining Museum in Rožňava in 2015-2017. Sentinel includes the following objects: Gemer Mining and Metallurgy Exposition, Steam Time at the Mining Museum, Mining Workplaces, Nature Exposition of the Slovak Karst and Adjacent Areas, and a courtyard where mining mechanisms and mobile mining railways are located. The gallery is located in a town house in the terraced area of the historical Rožňava Square and is used mainly for the presentation of exhibitions. It is located between Rožňava and Plešivec in the Slovak Karst National Park and Biospheric Reserve. Dominant elements in the Gombasecká Cave are thin and hollow straw stalactites reaching the maximum length of about 3m and in some places they are so dense that they remind a stone rain. The castle that is a national culture heritage lies 8 kilometres from Roznava, near the village Krasnohorske Podhradie. Originally Gothic castle from the 14th century towers of the high steep conic hill. It was rebuilt into a fort in Renaissance style, later on into presentable residence of nobility. Until 1812 the castle was inhabited. The last owner Dionyz Andrassy turned the place to a family museum and since 1906 it has been open to public. We invite you to a tour of the water mill museum, which belonged to the Andrássy family from Krásná Hôrka with the original original equipment, where you will not only learn, but also see how flour was sometimes made.
