One of the few spas in Eastern Slovakia, Climate Spa Štós is hidden in the forests of Slovak Ore Mountains. It is situated between the Slovak Karst National Park and Volovec Mountains, near the village Štós. The spa is located 35 km to the east from the town of Roznava and about 45 km to the west from Košice. It is surrounded by forest full of spruce, fir and other rare species of trees.

The spa is primarily focused on the treatment of respiratory tract, what the appropriate location and the altitude (650 meters above sea level) of the spa enable. Another advantage of this area is the large number of sunny days a year. The environment is made more pleasant by the wooded park with flowers, cascading creek and fountain.

The treatments provided by the spa include electrotherapy, hydrotherapy and rehabilitation. Maybe you did not know that it was in Štós where the first sauna in Slovakia was used for treatment. That was in 1963.

Also using for the treatment of respiratory tract, unique Speleotherapy is operated in the nearby Jasovská Cave. The spa features high success rate and a long tradition in this treatment which is combined with classic climate treatment with therapeutic procedures targeting the breathing and locomotor’s system.

Spa guests will stay at the Spa House Komporday which is at the centre of the medical resort. It offers single and double rooms with private bathrooms, as well as the catering area where restaurant and café belong. It comes also with training room, library, gym and lounge.

In your spare time you can head out to hiking trails and discover the untouched nature of the Slovak Karst and Volovec Mountains. In the spa area you can see a number of tree species.
