Recreational facility Chalet Baranec is located in Liptov in the southern part of the Western Tatras. It is situated in the middle of nature at the foot of the Baranec Hill at an altitude of 1000 meters, offering beautifull views of the surrounding region, including Low Tatras, Liptovská kotlina and Liptovská Mara reservoir. It is 5 km from the center of Žiar and less than 2 km from the entrance to Žiarská valley. The main hiking trail Tatier - Tatranská Magistrála leads directly to the cottage.

The offer includes double rooms with en suite facilities. The recreational facilities include a grassy playground for various ball games, a children's playground, a covered fireplace and a ski lift for beginners. In the cottage guests can play table football or billiards. There is a TV in the lounge with a fireplace. In the whole cottage internet connection is available.

The cottage can be accessed by an road that requires snow chains in the winter season. Guests have a car park at the cottage.
