The Považská Forest Railway was established in 1912 for the transport of harvested timber, the transport of which was mostly carried out at that time by rafting on the river. Boating at Štrbské pleso was renewed in 2008 after 30 years. Boat rental is available daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm during the summer. For clients there are 7 wooden stylish boats, which are built at the pier. There is also the possibility of using the services of a private rower.

Štrbské pleso is a picturesque mountain lake of glacial origin and a top tourist destination in the High Tatras, Slovakia. It is the second largest glacial lake on the Slovak side of the High Tatras, after Hincovo pleso.

Squirrel Rope Park is located at Strbske Pleso in the High Tatras. This rope park consists of two types of tracks: The big track consists of 22 obstacles placed on trees in the height of approx. 5 meters and it is 280 meters long. It takes approx. 45 minutes to complete. The track mini is designed for children under 3 years and consists of ten obstacles.
