Gánovce, museums and technical monuments

It informs the visitors about the character of the Tatra nature, about its protection and about the history of the Tatras being made accessible to the public. It belongs among the most visited museums of its kind in Slovakia – nearly 50 000 visitors every year. The Považská Forest Railway was established in 1912 for the transport of harvested timber, the transport of which was mostly carried out at that time by rafting on the river. The SENTINEL Adventure Center was created by the reconstruction of the Mining Museum in Rožňava in 2015-2017. Andrássy's gallery in Krásnohorské Podhradie was built in 1908-1909 by Dionýz Andrássy, the then owner of the Krásnohorský estate. The Slovakia Miniature Park can be found in Liptovský Ján. In this exhibition area you can see 18 models of Slovak cultural monuments and we are constantly working on the gradual expansion of the exhibition. The models are in the scale of 1:25 with a strong emphasis on detail. The first of these miniatures was created in 2005 and it was a model of the Urban Tower in Košice.
