Bison reserve

Bison reserve is located in the Nitra region, in the district of Zlaté Moravce, approximately 3 km north of the village of Lovce. 6 km from both Hostůovce and 9 km from the village of Topoľčianky.

The bison area was built in 1958 as the only bison breeding place in Slovakia. The bison zoo has an area of ​​27 ha. You can visit it every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You have the best chance to see the massive bison right next to the main building, especially at the time of their feeding, which takes place at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. A forestry educational trail runs around the grounds of the zoo. Through it you will learn more about the life of this original inhabitant of our forests.

There is a parking lot in front of the entrance gate to the Zoological Park, from which a path leads to the game park, which is about 300 meters away.

More than 180 bison were bred in the area, some of which have already been released into the wild. Some individuals were placed in zoos and farms all over Europe.
