Zoo Farm Modrová

Zoo farm is situated amid the green hills of Považský Inovec in western Slovakia. You can find it in the village of Modrová, 12 km northwest of Piestany.

When approaching farm, the road sign telling you that you are in New Zealand and the very next warns you "Beware kangaroos". Suddenly you find not only kangaroos but even Scottish mountain cattle, sheep, goats and emus are watching you. The farm features livestock bred in New Zealand.

As the Maoris are indigenous inhabitants of this country, the farm comes with a stylized traditional Maori settlement, which you will see in the most authentic forest. In such dwellings Maori lived about 300-400 years ago.

There is not just New Zealand presented, which Romney sheep represents. On the vast land there are animals imported from all over the world - Tasmanian kangaroos, ostriches and emus from Australia, Scottish mountain cattle from Great Britain, Quessant sheep from France, but also goats from Slovakia.

All animals are bred in the wild, so you can take a picture of each animal. The white kangaroo (albino) is a unique rarity of the farm. In addition to adult animals on the farm there are many young cubs. During the visit to the farm you can refresh and sit in a gazebo, on a terrace or by the fire.
