Františkova huta

The Františkova huta (locally only Hámor) technical monument, the ruins of the ironworks (ironworks) factory from 1836. It is located in Orava, in the cadastral area of Nižná, approx. 2 km southeast of the village of Podbiel on the road II / 584 near the Studený stream. Towards Zuberec.

The building is declared a national cultural monument. Originally a classicist factory building with triangular bays. Preserved classicist facade, district walls, smelter, inlet and outlet channel, hammer, nozzle chamber, pile of iron ore (behind the building).

The building is owned by the municipality of Podbiel. The land on which the building stands is jointly owned by the former Urbarialists of the village of Podbiel.
