TAJBA
Tajba is a "National Natural Reserve" in the cadastre of the village Streda nad Bodrogom in Slovakia. It is situated around an oxbow of the River Bodrog. The territory measures 60.6 acres (27.4 hectares) and it is a home of rare marsh communities. Species include the European Pond Turtle (Emys orbicularis), which is listed in the Red Book of Endangered Species as a critically endangered. On May 25, 1966 the Slovak Parliament approved the Tajba Reserve as a European Pond Turtle sanctuary.
Thermal spring Kalameny
At the mouth of the Kalamenská valley, visitors can bathe in a pond, into which warm thermal water from a thermal well springs, and thus enjoy the effects of healing water. You can reach it from the village of Kalameny if you head north for 1 km. The village is located in Liptov, 11 km northeast of the town of Ružomberok at the foot of the Choč Hills. The natural, weakly mineralized water in the pond, which is close to the road, has a sulfur odor. The spring was drilled in 2000 as part of a survey in the Kalamenská valley near Medokýš. Reservoir NOVÁ BYSTRICA
The Nová Bystrica reservoir is located in northwestern Slovakia in the district of Čadca, in the area of Kysúc in the Žilina Region. It was built in the years 1983 - 1989 on the river Bystrica below the confluence of the river Harvelka and Riečnický stream. The construction of the dam created a large water reservoir for the surrounding region. There is a sidewalk on the dam of Nová Bystrica, from which there is a nice view of the water reservoir .. The surrounding picturesque nature with adjacent forests is very attractive for tourists.
Kráľová Reservoir
The Kráľová water dam, built on the Váh river, provides opportunities for windsurfing, yachting and water skiing, as well as recreational fishing. The Kráľová waterworks, also called Cascades, is located between Sereď and Šaľa on the river kilometer 44.2–78.6. The work was completed in 1985 for the purpose of energy use of Váh, flood protection of the adjacent area, for the extraction of gravel, as a reservoir of irrigation water, for navigating the section of Váh, for fish farming and as an environment for recreation and water sports. It is part of the Vážská waterway.
