Tatra ice dome

The Tatra Ice Dome is one of the most visited winter attractions in the High Tatras. This tourist attraction made of ice is accessible from 17.11.2023 during the winter season 2023-2024.

The interior of the 11th year ice temple is decorated with a monumental building from London - Westminster Abbey. The Royal Cathedral built in the Gothic style, which has been the place of coronation of the Kings of England since 1066.

The creators of this ice structure chose this theme because of the 15th anniversary of the visit of Queen Elizabeth II. in Slovakia and the High Tatras. After all, it was in Westminster Abbey that Queen Elizabeth II was crowned. as well as the current king Karol III.

225 tons of ice were used to create the Tatra Ice Dome, which is 1880 ice blocks. The main builder was Adam Bakoš. Sculptors from 4 countries participated in the construction - Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland. The building is 11.5 meters high. The dome in which the building is located has a diameter of 25 meters.
