MINIZOO in the Park

Žiar minizoo is located in the town of Žiar nad Hronom in Štefan Moyzes Park. Several species of animals live in the area. Here you can see donkeys, ponies, kangaroos, ostriches, sheep, goats, pigs and rabbits. Minizoo in 2011 and is a popular place for families with children. Entrance to the Žiarská minizoo is free. Feeding animals is prohibited.

Kangaroos were the first animals that came to the minizoo. Pigs, sheep and goats as well as Cameroonian sheep were added later. Later, two brown emu birds were brought to the mini-zoo, which in 2020 managed to hatch three chicks. They built a house for rabbits in the area and also added small ponies.
The animals in the Žiarská minizoo are taken care of by a technical services worker in Žiar nad Hronom. The area also includes ponds with carp, which are taken care of by local fishermen.

Several animals have died in the past due to feeding by visitors, so it is strictly forbidden to feed the animals with food that you bring with you
