Danubiana - Meulensteen Art Museum

Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum with an unusual location and impressive architecture is located on the edge of a peninsula on the mighty Danube in Bratislava, city district Čunovo, in the area of water sports. The museum of Modern Art is about 20 km from the centre of Bratislava.

In the great hall of the museum exhibition of world artists take place. The building comes with a gallery selling of contemporary art, as well as space for smaller scale exhibitions, audio-visual centre and a lecture hall. There is also Art Shop with catalogues, art books, postcards, posters, prints of Slovak artists and souvenirs.

The permanent exhibition features works from the collection of Gerard Meulensteen, and from the collection of the Danubiana. Here you can see also examples of works of Sam Francis (representative of the second wave of American abstract painting), Christo and Jeanne Claude, Paul Jenkins, and Jill Moser or Oliver Herring.

The building includes a cosy cafe where you can sit with a coffee on the bank of the Danube. The large park around the museum offers the presentation of sculptural works of Slovak and foreign authors.

You can connect visiting gallery with a sightseeing boat from Bratislava to Čunovo.
