Kysucke Beskydy, extending to the north of Slovakia in the region Kysue belongs to the system of Slovak Beskid Mountains, where we include also the Orava Beskids. The main ridge of the mountain range stretches along the border with Poland. The mountain range is divided into two parts, namely Arber Beskids and Raca, separated by valleys which the village Oscadnica lies in. Kysuce Beskids on the territory of Slovakia neighbours with Kysuce Highlands in the south, with Orava Beskids in the east and with Javorniky Mountains in the west.

The largest city and also a major tourist centre of the mountains, the town of Cadca is located on its western edge. With its unique location near the two countries it is a town considered to be the gateway to Slovakia from the Czech Republic and also from Poland. Visitors who stay in Cadca have the surrounding mountains suitable for hiking, biking as well as skiing within reach.

Probably the most famous tourist centre, the resort Velka Raca in the administrative area of the village of Oscadnica is situated in the heart of the mountains. The resort for summer and winter recreation lies under the highest hill - the Great Raca and you certainly should not miss it if you spend vacation in Kysuce region. In its area during the winter season the resort Snow Paradise Velka Raca - one of the largest ski resorts in Slovakia offers its services, and in the summer season the Sun Paradise expected visitors with a wide range of summer activities in nature environments of Kysucke Beskydy Mountains. Thanks to its attractiveness and its beautiful mountain surroundings, this area is one among the most sought after vacation places, what stimulates the building of hotels, guesthouse and apartments. The Great Raca and its vicinity is an area with the largest accommodation capacity in Kysuce Beskids. You can stay also in villas, holiday homes or cottages with cheaper accommodation.
