Hlohovec Castle is the most important historical monument of the town Hlohovec. It is located south of Hlohovec, on the edge of a large tree park with french terraces. The original medieval castle was built in the 11th century. In 1275 King Ladislav IV. donated the castle to the first feudal owner of the Abovcov family. Since then, with little breaks, it belonged with the surrounding lands until 1945 to a powerful feudal family. Dolná Krupá is situated 11 km north from the district town of Trnava, approx. 60 km from the capital city of SR Bratislava. The Classicistic castle from 1793-95 was last reconstructed in 1820-1821 based on the project of A.P.Rigel. The Smolenice Castle (Smolenický zámok) is a castle in the eastern slope of the Little Carpathians, near the town of Smolenice in Slovakia. The castle was build up in the half of 15th century, but it was destroyed during the Rakoci's uprising and Napoleanic wars. In 1777 the count Jan Palffy from Pezinok inherited the entire Smolenice but did not reside in the castle due to its poor condition and lack of money for rebuilding it. The castle was only rebuilt up in the 20th century, by order of the count Jozef Palffy. The main building has two wings and a tower, and is made of ferroconcrete....
