Botanical Garden of Pavol J. Safarik University in Kosice is located in the north-western part of the Kosice Basin in site Bankov. It was founded in 1950 and now covers an area of 30 ha. The garden features a greenhouses warm exposure on an area of 3500 m2 with tropical and subtropical vegetation, and an area of 4 ha with exposure of decorative flora. Sivá Brada is a travertine mound located near the town of Spišské Podhradie to the west. At its top, a mineral spring springs, creating a small lake with a diameter of 3 m, in the middle of which a continuously bubbling mineral water springs. Other mineral springs spring up in the area.
