Museum of folk architecture in Čičmany
The museum is located in the distinctive village of Čičmany, which lies in the Strážov Mountains at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level. The village is situated 40 km south of the city of Žilina. The first historical mention of Čičmany dates back to 1272. The museum occupies two historically protected houses decorated with original Čičmany folk ornaments. Both buildings are managed by the Považie Museum based in Žilina.
