It informs the visitors about the character of the Tatra nature, about its protection and about the history of the Tatras being made accessible to the public. It belongs among the most visited museums of its kind in Slovakia – nearly 50 000 visitors every year.
The exhibition part of the museum is separated to natural historical, natural protection, historical and ethnographical section.

June - August:
- Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday, Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

- children to 6 years - free,
- children above 6 years SKK 10,
- school groups above 20 pupils –SKK 5

Screening of films in a hall with capacity of 64 places for sitting.
