Bata Canal (Skalica harbour)

Bata Canal located near the town of Skalica in western Slovakia in the Záhorie region is a tourist waterway ideal to spend a weekend, leisure or interesting holiday by water. It offers opportunities for water sports, active recreation and a good time for families. In addition to weekend cruise either by cabin boat or speedboat, you can go on a cycling trip along the bank of canal or just relax in nature. In the port Skalica it is possible to rent boats or canoe and you can just sail.

In the past used for irrigation and waterway traffic, Bata canal was built in the 30s of the 20th century. Since the 90s, the channel has been used for tourist purposes for the first time. The channel extends from the port of Skalica in Slovakia, continues to the Czech Republic and ends in Otrokovice port. Along its bank there are ports with various services for tourists and several monuments and tourist attractions.

Nowadays you can go for a non-traditional boat trip from the port of Skalica and unwind in nature, away from the noise of the big city.
