Súľov Mountains

Sulov Mountains (Súľovské vrchy) are extending in a north-western part of Slovakia, south of the town of Zilina, eastward from Povazska Bystrica and west of the village Rajec. Modest mountain range, with the highest peaks reaching a height of between 800 and 900 meters, is divided into three units, namely Skalky, Sulov rocks (Súľovské skaly) and Manínska Highlands.

Probably the most attractive part, the Súľovské rocks near the village of Sulov-Hradna enclosed by them almost on each side by, creating a beautiful rock theatre. Beautiful rock formations with walls suitable for climbing attract enthusiasts of mountaineering, and are one of the most famous Slovak sites for sport climbing. Other climbing terrains in the Súľov Mountains include those in Manin Gorge, as well as in Kostolecká Gorge.

It's a popular area for tourists, cyclists and lovers of beautiful countryside. The most popular routes include the Nature trail in Sulov Rockies or the hike along the ridge of the Rockies with a beautiful view of the valley. For further targets for tourists, so you can visit some ruin, as Hričov Castle, Súľov Castle or Povazsky castle. Hiking in the mountains, which are also a popular location for cycling, is beautiful in every season. Every year there are held race Bike Marathon Súľov Rocks, which you can participate and also you can measure forces with other competitors.
