The first written reference about Piestany thermal springs dates back to 1549. The temperature of the springs reaches even 69 °C. Piestany lie in the western part of the Slovak Republic, in Trnava region, 86 kilometres north-east from Bratislava, on the right bank of the river Vah, under the foot of the Povazsky Inovec mountain range.
