Nitra is a town that lies in the Nitra region, at the foot of the Zobor hill, 80 km north-east from Bratislava. With the number of its inhabitants, Nitra is the fifth biggest town in Slovakia. Nitra is one of the oldest towns in Slovakia; the beginnings of its settlements date back even to the primeval ages, as it is documented in a number of archaeological findings on the territory of this town. The most expressive and the most precious memory of Nitra is the castle, perking on a rocky hill being flown off by the river Nitra. Thanks to Agrokomplex exhibition centre Nitra is also an international fair centre.
