Hrabusice

The village of Hrabusice is located in the western part of the Hornad Basin near the northern edge of the Slovak Paradise National Park, which makes it a popular destination for tourists. Surroundings of the village offer activities in all seasons. In winter it is a skiing at nearby ski resorts and in summer it is a possibility for hiking and biking. During the trip you can see the historical monuments of the region of Spis or get to know some of the nearby caves. You can also visit the town of Spisska Nova Ves.

The hiking trails leading to gorges of the Slovak Paradise are easily accessible from Hrabusice. The most attractive places include fascinating gorge Sucha Bela, which is a nature reserve. It is reachable from village and during the passage on a marked tourist trail you will see several waterfalls. The Hornad Canyon with a nature trail, part of which can be crossed only with the help of chains and metal risers, belongs also among wonderful sites to visit. You can discover the nature of the national park and admire the waterfalls on hiking trails leading through attractive Big Falcon gorge (Velky Sokol) and Piecky. One path from the resort Podlesok lying next to Hrabusice will take you to Klastorisko, which is the only tourist resort in the midst of the Slovak Paradise. Here you can see the archaeological remains of the Carthusian monastery. If you would like to spend the night in the resort, you'll find accommodation in tourist class. There can be found ruins of the castle at the top of the Zelena hora (Green Hill) near the village of Hrabusice. You will see only remnants of walls.
