If you are considering which mountains you would visit during the holidays, your decision can be one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Slovakia – Belian Tatras, and stay right under the majestic peaks, creating unforgettable scenery.

Belianske Tatras mountain range with the highest peak Havran / Raven (2,151.5 m) is formed by limestone ridge with a length of 14 km in the Eastern Tatras. They are geologically distinct from the High Tatra Mountains, joining their main ridge perpendicular to the ridge of Belian Tatras. The point of contact of the two mountain ranges is called Kopské saddle, accessible to tourists, the slope of Hlupy (Stupid) falls into.

In Belianske Tatras, unlike the High Tatras, there is no mountain lake, but they are considered the most beautiful part of the Tatras. By glaciers almost untouched, the mountains enchant visitors with its magnificent limestone and dolomite walls and slopes, which are grassed and offer lush vegetation, unlike the bare rocky peaks of the neighbouring mountains. Most of the hills in Belian Tatras, including the highest peak Raven, as well as a large part of the mountain are undisclosed for tourists due to nature conservation. However, you can attend interesting tours to outlying valleys, of which the best known is probably the Seven Springs valley. You can explore the local countryside during a stroll by nature trail leading through Monk valley, connecting the village Ždiar and Kopské saddle.

Belian Tatras offer one more attraction which is caves. However, among these, there is only one accessible - Belianska cave in Tatranska Kotlina. Famous mountain tourist settlement on the south-eastern edge of the ridge has a wide range of accommodation opportunities and there are also climatic health spas. From Tatranska Kotlina you can get by hiking trails into the only one mountain cottage in this mountain range, which can be found under Bujaci hill.

If you want to admire the view of the scenery during the holidays, you will choose the popular destinations under Belian Tatras - the village Ždiar, which has for visitors an unlimited capacity of accommodation. Located under the northern slopes of the mountains, Zdair lives with tourism throughout the year. You can stay in pensions, which will provide sufficient comfort. You can also choose cheap accommodation in private homes, but for an ideal family vacation, there are cosy cottages with all the amenities. During the winter holiday there are many ski areas directly in Ždiar, but also close towards the village Jezersko in Bachledova valley you will find superbly equipped winter sports resort.
