A serpentine path leads from the state road in direction Banská Bystrica - Turčianske Teplice to the Harmanecká Cave. The entrance part called Izbica was known to local woodcutters and workers from long ago, however the cave was discovered only in 1932. White soft flowstone dominates the cave and it is one of the most important localities of bat occurrence in Slovakia. Situated on the southern side of the Low Tatras close to the tourism centres Tále and Mýto pod Ďumbierom. Bojnice Castle Cave is a natural travertine cave with a diameter of 22 m and a height of 6 m, located 26 meters below the level of the fourth courtyard of the Bojnice Castle. The cave was formed by effects of atmospheric precipitation of water that flowed in here through craters and outside cracks in the middle of the travertine. The cave is located 13 km southerly from the city of Liptovský Mikuláš, in the Low Tatras Mts., on the right side of the Demänovská Valley, several kilometers below the known skiing resort Jasná. A serpent path from the parking place to the cave is 400 m long with elevation span of 67m. The ascent to cave takes 10 - 15 min and serves as an educational trail at the same time. The cave entrance is located in the cliff Bašta on the northern side of the Low Tatras Mts., only two kilometers northerly from the Demänovská Cave of Liberty.
