The Sándor Márai Memorial Exhibition was opened January 22, 2019. The Sándor Márai Memorial Room was opened on the ground floor of the house in May 1998 and has since been the scene of several exhibitions featuring the life and work of the city’s famous native son. The humble memorial room has now been expanded to accommodate a unique exhibition whose ambition is to pay homage to Sándor Márai’s memory in the city that played a central part in his life.
Slovak opal mines
Slovak opal mines can be found in eastern Slovakia on the territory of Slanské vrchy. They are situated 20 km southeast of Prešov, between the villages of Červenica and Zlatá Baňa. Renaissance castle in Humenne
The manor house, the dominant feature of the town of Humenné, was built on the site of a medieval water castle, a simple tower-shaped building surrounded by a moat. It is one of the most important cultural and historical monuments in the area. The manor house was built by the Drugeth family between 1619 and 1641 on the site of a burnt-out manor house.
