Trencin Castle is built on a high limestone hill; it dominates Trencin town and surrounding area. Dubnica Mansion, one of the most valuable historical buildings in Slovakia, is a cultural monument standing in Dubnica nad Vahom. Four-wing building of the chateau with a Renaissance core is located next to the Church of St. James and the Jan Baltazar Magin Park. Mansion was built in the 40-ies of the 17th century. The Čachtice castle hill has been settled already in the prehistoric age. It is proved by findings of various objects that were excavated directly on the courtyards of the castle or nearby the walls.
