Liptovský Mikuláš, museums and technical monuments

The Slovakia Miniature Park can be found in Liptovský Ján. In this exhibition area you can see 18 models of Slovak cultural monuments and we are constantly working on the gradual expansion of the exhibition. The models are in the scale of 1:25 with a strong emphasis on detail. The first of these miniatures was created in 2005 and it was a model of the Urban Tower in Košice. Havránok is an important archaeological site in northern Slovakia. It is located on a hill above the Liptovská Mara water reservoir around 2 km from the village of Bobrovník, about halfway between Ružomberok and Liptovský Mikuláš in the Liptov region. The Považská Forest Railway was established in 1912 for the transport of harvested timber, the transport of which was mostly carried out at that time by rafting on the river.
