Tourist resort of Krpacovo is located in the charming foothill area of the region of Horehronie in the Low Tatras. The resort with an artificial water reservoir in its centre which is suitable as a swimming pool in summer is part of the Low Tatras National Park (NAPANT) since 1978. In a quiet coniferous forest there is several hotels, guesthouses and private cottages.

For skiers there are track for cross-country skiing in addition to artificial snow ski slopes with two modern ski lifts Tatrapoma and two lifts for beginners. Other slopes can be found on Chopok, Srdiecko, in the village of Myto pod Dumbierom and in the nearby resort Tale with a 18-hole golf course.

Krpacovo has a location near the mouth of Vajskovska valley, which is one of the longest and most beautiful valleys in the micro-region Chopok-South. It mesmerizes the tourists with waterfalls of Vajskovsky stream, extraordinary scenery and wild hillsides Skalky. You can visit Bystrianska cave which is 8 km from the resort.
