A serpentine path leads from the state road in direction Banská Bystrica - Turčianske Teplice to the Harmanecká Cave. The entrance part called Izbica was known to local woodcutters and workers from long ago, however the cave was discovered only in 1932. White soft flowstone dominates the cave and it is one of the most important localities of bat occurrence in Slovakia. Bojnice Castle Cave is a natural travertine cave with a diameter of 22 m and a height of 6 m, located 26 meters below the level of the fourth courtyard of the Bojnice Castle. The cave was formed by effects of atmospheric precipitation of water that flowed in here through craters and outside cracks in the middle of the travertine. Situated on the southern side of the Low Tatras close to the tourism centres Tále and Mýto pod Ďumbierom.
