Velky Meder is located in the southern part of West Slovakia, 10 km from the frontier crossing to Hungary. It became known thanks to its thermal swimming pool, the geothermic water of which has beneficial impacts on healing articular diseases, backbone and muscular fatigue and, overall, it helps to regenerate the whole body. The visitors can find a lot of cheap accommodation around the swimming pool, but also in the whole area of Veľký Meder. Accommodation possibilities are secured directly in the area of the swimming pool, where accommodation is provided in hotels, in the recreational resort as well as in a camp for cars. The whole area is situated in a forest, thus giving great opportunities for walks on maintained forest paths.
