Road signs correspond to European norms.
The motorists have to drive on the roads of Slovakia from the 1th February 2009 with the lights turned on year round.
The use of safety belts is compulsory in towns as well.
Drinking alcohol (including beer!) before driving is forbidden.
From the 1th February 2009 the maximum permissable speed in built-up areas is 50 km/h, outside built-up areas 90 km/h and on motorways 130 km/h.
The specified equipment of the vehicle contains the first aid box, towing-rope, triangular reflector and functional spare wheel. It is forbidden to transport children under 12 years and animals on front seats. It is a duty to use child seat or a so called child-carrier for all children under 1,5 metres and weighing up to 36 kg.
