Poprad, the third biggest town of Eastern Slovakia, lies in the Popradská hollow basin that is part of Podtatranská hollow basin, between the High and the Belianske Tatras, on both sides of the river Poprad. The relative closeness of the main crest of the Tatras creates a beautiful scene for the town.
